Re: Fitting tyres to SIP tubeless rims
I found a supplier to fit them. The charge was too much, but they did it without a scratch to my polished and painted wheels, and on the same day, so I won't complain. In my search for someone who will do it, I did learn a fair bit about the issues with fitting tyres to SIP tubelss rims. One problem...

Re: Engine casing question r.e. tapping new welding
The stud is a standard M8 (8mm diameter and 1.25mm pitch).
I would take the cylinder head and/or barrel with you, so he can drill through and be certain of getting the hole in the correct location.

Re: Series 3air scoop
I guess you mean a 175cc with standard carb(?) I would open it up, because I don't think it can do any harm. Why not open it a bit, like to the bottom, rather than take out the whole web (as per GP200). See if it makes any difference. (I know my mate fitted a GP150 scoop to a GP200, and it strangled...

Re: Clutch spun on crank now can't get it off
Here is the drastic way that you might do it. Separate the two halves of the engine, and then tap the crank out from the clutch side, leaving the clutch behind. A lot of work, and not guaranteed to be successful, but it has the potential to deliver all the parts intact (except that pesky woodruff key)

Re: Clutch spun on crank now can't get it off
Vespas aren't my strong-point, but can you explain whether you have been able to remove the securing nut? I assume so, but you are unable to use a screw-in extractor because the remains of the clutch are spinning on the end of the crank. As I say, Vespas are my bag but I (and others) would like to h...

If I can't find my tap, I might be taping you up (gettit?) to borrow it, as I will need to tap mine in a few days time.Daggs wrote:HxPaul wrote:10mm x 1mm pitch. £20 freaking quid. ( i may consider renting it out)
