Re: Mod 1 and 2 On Scooter
IIRC you go through the speed trap twice, once for the emergency stop and once for the hazard avoidance. You need to do a minimum speed of 50kph, which isn't much but you only get a short run to get up to that speed which a standard 125 may struggle with. Fail to reach that speed and you fail the te...

Re: Tyre Choices
I'm glad this topic has popped up. I'm a brand new rider, got a PX125, scoot has got Michelin tyres. I'm using the scooter in all weathers for going to work. I was wondering which tyres would be best. That tracking thing when riding is a pain especially as i'm still pretty much learning to ride. I ...

Re: How to get a licence
CBT is easy, book it, turn up and a few hours later (barring any disasters) you'll have a certificate and can ride a 125cc with L-plates
Full test is a bit more involved, CBT, theory test, Mod1 (off-road) and Mod2 (on-road) tests

Re: What sparkplug do you use with your GT kit?
I use a B8 (or equivalent) in both my GT186 and GT200, seems fine. I have run a B7 but didn't fancy that on long runs and a B8 is fine pootling around as well

Re: Tyre Choices
Anyone tried the Anlas winter ones or Michelin city grip? Running Conti twists but rear is bald after 3000 miles, good mileage and great in the dry on my series 1 TS1 but shite in the wet I find I'm on my 2nd set of City Grip Winters, I like them, decent grip in all weathers (I ride all year round)...

Re: Running in
From memory with the cast GT kits the suggested running in period is minimum 250 miles, 1st 100 miles @4% oil mix, use full throttle range but don't hold it in 1 throttle position for too long and don't labour the engine. I own 2 of these kits (186 and 200) and I pretty much followed the above, esse...

That looks really good. I watched a TV programme a few weeks ago where people had moved their shops and businesses into storage containers to combat the rise in shop rental prices, was working really well for them

I'm using an IWIS 81 link chain with pull down tensioner on my 16 x 46 set up, been in for over 10k miles without any issues

Re: BLOA dead?
LOL, I just checked the campsite, it's listed as only having 38 pitches!! So with all the ves*** it should be rammed. In fairness Gavin doesn’t pick the best of dates for his rallies. I wonder what else is happening that weekend :?: He probably checked personally with the 3 people going that they w...
