Re: imola kit, re plate or steel liner ??
just had this exactly done mate, Imola steel lined, rd piston. One thing to watch, I Needed the barrel shortening due to differing crown height of the piston / existing rod length. This had a knock - on effect on the inlet manifold clearance issues, so do a dry build with engine in the frame too, pl...

Re: IMOLA PISTON needed!
I've just fitted an RD 350 YPVS (same as used in Rich T's Gt 186 KITS) to a mates Imola. Genuine Yam versions, along with Wiseco / Wossner etc a...

Re: Rally with er...points
Cheers for pic, its just that I have seen some early crossover casings that had been machined for points and femsa type ignitions, but yours hasn't, shame as it would have been handy for you!
As for the rest of the engine, and seeing how you don't know its history, why not treat it to a rebuild?

Re: BGM Clubman bad fitting downpipe
Had to enlongate the main bracket slots plus grind off a section of the exhaust stub as it was catching on a cylinder fin ... but that aside it looks a sturdy piece of kit and it should perform well. So all in all, worth the fettling in my eyes but agree it could be a better fit. My guess is the ve...
