Re: Which Flywheel

My missus says that about me.............. :o Once a heavy F/W is spinning its harder to slow it down, so as long as you keep the revs well up they should run OK. But, if the revs drop off then it takes more energy to get it back to speed- a lighter one SHOULD get there quicker.............IMO Are t...

Re: Which Flywheel

Personally I would have said the reverse should be true. A standard F/W is approx 2.8kg, so the engine has to get this spinning before any "power" can be transmitted to the road. A lighter F/W will spool up much quicker and therefore the usable power comes in quicker- in theory!! Lightened...

Re: Whats causing this?

thanks Tony. I used the bike yesterday afternoon after my initial post and no problems at all. Also kicked over fine this morning.

No doubt there is something amiss somewhere so I'll replace clutch and springs in due course. Thanks for your help

Whats causing this?

When trying to kick start the Lambretta, the K/S sometimes goes to the floor although there is some resistance (i.e. its NOT the K/S ratchet faulty). Its like the clutch plates are not transmitting the motion to the rear sprocket; the chain; and in turn the piston. Eventually it will kick over as no...

TV rod length- any theories?

Anyone hazard a guese as to why Innocenti made the TV175 with an odd length con rod?

IMO its the best bike they ever produced and scores over its big brother on handling and smoothness. But why the odd length rod?

Any ideas?

Re: DIY home tuning

its an old B & D belt sander- you can get belts in various widths. I used the smallest available ( about 10mm wide) and you can get the end of the belt in the exhaust and inlet ports quite easily. Makes light work of the alloy and metal liner.

Crude but effective!

DIY home tuning

As a few of you may know, I've recently got an LI125S on the road and running (the one in my Avatar)- as this one is a bit of a heap (albeit dead straight with no known faults), I thought I'd have a go at a bit of DIY home tuning, so this is what I've done. -Replaced original top end with an SR cyli...

They're old technology I believe (no cryo) and they have been known to break very easily
