Re: Clearcoat laquer or not?
The only problem is, if you have any kind of stripes or edge to edge colour you will end up with a "lip" even if you use fine line or soft edge masking tape, the only way round this is to lacquer it, flat the lacquer with 800 grit then re-lacquer (flow coat) it, that way you won't have an ...

Re: Clearcoat laquer or not?
Depends how long it's been in your shed, cellulose lacquer will be fine, if it's a metallic and you can get away without flatting it, then just paint it as is (after a bit of prep) I would flat it, give it a couple of coats of purple, let it flash off then lacquer it I haven't used cellulose for a f...

Re: Clearcoat laquer or not?
is it a solid or metallic ? if it's solid colour are you pleased with the finish/gloss/depth ? If it's a metallic/pearl it will need to be lacquered, personally I would lacquer it anyway, flat it with 800 wet and dry, then 2 coats of 2K clear (a closed coat then a nice wet coat with a good MS or pre...

Re: TS1 225 Kits - advice please
1) The 9.5:1 head will increase compression if you currently have an 8.5:1 head, or decrease compression if you have a 10.5:1 head. 2) Yes it would work OK, it would increase performance compared to an AF Clubman, or decrease performance compared to a decent touring expansion chamber. All things ar...

Re: Reedspeed 5 plate clutch
I don’t think you will be disappointed, that’s sounds like a sweet set up, it’s very very close to mine TS1 kit, inlet feeds opened slightly, cases matched, boost port modified and slightly widened, exhaust opened and raised slightly, centre squish head machined/recessed (no head gasket) 60/110 AF c...

Re: Reedspeed 5 plate clutch
When my Imola needs a rebuild, I think I will throw a 60/110 crank in that and play around with packers to see if I can get similar results, coz as quick as it is, it's a bit sort of on/off the power, hit 5'500 rpm and it takes off like a bombs exploded behind you, yet under that its a bit, not exac...

Re: Reedspeed 5 plate clutch
IT depends, if you're asking lambretta speedo speeds, then about 120mph !  I've had around 82-85 mph (gps) from both my bikes flat out, but it aint about flat out speed, as people have pointed out on here before, plenty of people think/say their scooters will do 80, then stick a GPS on or...
