best flowing filter is the breath sweet from cam lam. proven on the dyno on my bike to have pretty much no negative effect on power over a open carb. the others we tried had a huge effect and needed re jetting to suit. you may need to fit a coil of coat hanger wire inside to stop it flattening thoug...

the way it feels (not talking rude here adam) is that on de exeleration its still sucking but with the carb shut i wondered if it was drawing gearbox oil or two stroke oil in then the bog could be it hydrolicing then the pop is the exhaust port dumping the compressed oil........i think ive invented ...

it did it on mine, when i de exelerated then opened the throttle it would bog then pop. i down jetted and it was ok.

not sure if this is the same, i cant visualise whats going on to cause the pop

vespa t5 standard 125....owned by mate, when I open the throttle from 5000rpm onwards it pops and holds back !!! What do you think the problem is?

pinasco do a 62mm stroke.

cost 130-180 ish. take a look at the pinasco 60mm crank. its a great off the shelf crank. mrs cezeta got one for her birthday. http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/produ ... +_45028000

cut the pipe and screw a bolt into what is left to block the tube (one in each half of the cut tube)

thanks tony they dont tell you that i wont bother goin that route my cranks cut and polished anyway ditto, too much aggro. i need to improve the power outside the power band with a taffy pipe. drops out of the power on a hill and im buggered and the mrs on a standard p2 disapears into the distance....

looking at the two side by side the hb and the pinasco look very similar apart from the spit top port. how do they compare on the road?

so tony for us basic spanner monkeys/none tuning types do you think a long stroke crank onto a 172 kit with no other work other than packers would work?

Hopefully Tony can help, or send him a PM. Ive never had any dealings with one, but in the T5/TS1 thread, he says long stroke T5 is the much better option. i spoke to tony about this and he was very enthusiastic about it. beyond my know how but i like the idea of it as the 172 alone is just a bit l...
