Re: Engine Build - Advice needed
Yeah, we are not talking about the old Malossi 210. That works with a 60 crank. In fact the best thing that can be done with the old 210. The 210 MHR is not the same, it has much wilder port timing and will make more of a sprinter with a 60 crank. Is yours really a 36 tooth 3rd or do you mean 37 too...

Re: Engine Build - Advice needed
Originally the 21 tooth is from a 150 but you can get them in both clutch types now from SIP. The 21, 22 and 23 all work on the 65 ring gear so it is possible to change them easily to get the highest gearing that will pull 4th. The MHR 210, a 60mm crank and a 23/64 primary shouldnt all be in the sam...

Re: Engine Build - Advice needed
A 23/64 cruiser gearbox is going to go ok but will never really make a proper quick scooter. Even the standard 23/65 is already too high, for fast road. If looking for high speed is is best to reduce the gearing to 21/65 and port it to aim for 9000 rpm in top (which is about 88mph on GPS and safe pi...

Re: Reed Valve
If anyone is struggling to make a decision on reed or rotary here is my two penneth. It all depends what you are trying to do. If you want a carb bigger than 30mm then reed valve is the only way, no choice. Up to a 30mm carb a correctly modified rotary induction always gives more top end power. Reed...

Re: 172 porting
If you are looking to increase high rpm power, the easiest way when you don't want to make any permenant change is just to jack the barrel up with a load of base gaskets or aluminium packer. Try about 1mm first and see how it goes. If its better try some more. Once you getting revving where you want...

Re: PX200 wont start when warm
Well it's not the air screw then It is something making it too rich though. How about the air hole in the top of the pilot jet, all clean? Is it the correct size jet?
Like Grinch said, could be the float needle. If you leave the fuel on, does it start cold without choke?

Re: PX200 wont start when warm
If everything else is ok then the pilot circuit is too rich. Check the air screw on the back of the carb is no more than about 1.5 turns out.

Re: JL end can mounting
Same story with my mild steel JL. Original bracket broke in a month. Made a new bracket from some scrap and a rubber mount from Halfords and it's been on for a year now
I had a stainless exhaust once and once only. It was like it was made of glass.

Re: carbon clutch plates
Thats a good point! For them not to slip you need big springs too. I have 10 SIP XXL springs in an MMW superstrong basket.
