the bearing with the rod kit is 16mm wide so that dictates - I had the crank pin welded
but i`ve seen plenty done without welding - i have a crank (MEC) that the late Jon Betts (SES)did which was done in the same way

i use a converted SIL crank in one of my TS1`s gp200 22mm big end and have them rebuilt with an rd350 rod kit which is 110mm long therefore you need a 3mm packplate- things to keep an eye on though is the rod thickness they a thicker by 1mm than standard and then you put in a thrust washer 0.5mm eac...

i`m starting to get the patrs together to do one - got genuine it175 piston, crank done with rd400 115mm long rod in 58mm stroke webs

i`ve got a fibre glass nannucci copy one on an sx which was a pig it ended up very shallow after fitting it i`ve got a vespa px one - again a pig again ended up shallow and finally a scootrs rally style on on my gp and it fit perfect with no work at all with plenty of space probably going top change...

yes you can but - as soulsurfer said they are deeper - i`ve just finished one - had to make the ali ring on the headset top deeper and get the angle right and modify the headset bottom clamp to route the cable - had to faff about with the cable abit but you can use a standard indian gp/sx type sorry...

wondered if anyone has the facility or knows of a company that can make an end piece for the ali can. mine has ripped on the circlip groove so i`ve trimmed it back so its a little shorter - now theres is nothing to hold the baffle and packing in - so i need to get an end piece made like the dev tour...
