if it's getting too hot then there is a jetting/ignition/cooling issue that needs to be corrected. Also some of the replacement RD pistons have been known to drop ring pegs. It's a common problem. Last I researched this issue it looks like ProX pistons are the good ones and the Wiseco were the ones ...

update to previous, on rich taylors advise i change the gearing to 17/46 and it is much better at high speed ie not revving so high and so not getting so hot. I have a garvin gps speedo and have had it at 67 mph and still not revving very high, i have just put a bgm clubman on as i think it will let...

I run 17-46 with 42mm clubman, 26mm dellorto through airbox gp150 gearbox, very happy with this set up.

sorry you should be more clear, round side against the welded flange with the hex side facing up toward the end of the stud

sorry Andy- I disagree. They are supposed to go on with the "round" bit against the manifold flange- the area is so tight, it is very hard to tighten them up if its done your way. Check out page 18 of the old work shop manual (4th edition) Chris so would you use a washer and if so which one
