Re: GP200 CENTER STAND REMOVAL/ REFITTING.
If you remove the rear shock, the exhaust should swing out of the way sufficiently to allow you to use a socket on the end of the nut. Having said that, the whole job is easier if you do remove the rear footboards, allowing the use of a open ended spanner in the channel of the cross-member. Why are ...

Re: Mitaka oversize pistons for GT186?
Hi Nic. I'm glad you made it back. Those 9 hours we spent in the workshop paid off.
Try Grampian Motors for Matika pistons.
Not the cheapest, but they are fast, things are in stock, and it is not a fake.

Re: Inlet manifold
Hi Knowledge....................what's the best manifold to get for a TS1 to allow a breathe easy air filter to be used on a 30mm VHSH so that it sits beneath the side panel without cutting any holes ? I have gone for the Jimmers cast manifold with a rubber from Allens Performance on my Pro-Porting...

Re: Inlet manifold
Slightly off topic, but that looks like a CNC machined manifold, whilst Jimmers are cast. I was able to machine about 8-10mm off the face where the rubber is located to allow the carb to sit closer to the frame and get a air hose in. I did need to do a bit of ali welding where the RHS rubber stud si...

Re: gp200 sil center stand.
It could well be a combination of the items mentioned above, including the stand fixing bolts pulling through the frame cross member. There are often cracks in the cross member as a result of previous owners bad-practise when it comes to sitting on scooter while stationary, and riding them off the s...

Re: Cylinder Head Damage.
From your description, it sounds like a bit of a freak occurrence rather than a well known issue. It would be easy to rub-out the marks with a good emery cloth, and then re-fit it. Keep off the gasket face with the emery cloth. If the head was beyond repair, don't worry, a dozen people on here will ...

Re: Anodised oil filler plug - anyone used them?
That sounds very disappointing, because there does seem to be a need for a replacement. A mate had the original style magnetic oil plug fall apart, which jammed and broke his gear box, which twisted his crank and wrecked his TS1 barrel. Hard to believe that it could do so much damage. I think there ...

Re: carb choice for ts1 & comp ratio's
Interestingly, my mate was after a carb to run with the an LTH LHS manifold and asked JB to set it up, expecting a 28mm to be fitted (he was after good fuel consumption and air flow through a modified air box). John recommended a 30mm PHBH and he struggled to set up any 28mm PHBH. Same body, but dif...

Re: inlet manifolds...
Sorry, is the carb on the traditional side, or the TS1 side?
I assume from the replies that you want one for the traditional side. If so, be careful what you wish for. If the carb sits lower to accommodate your tank, the float bowl may hit the head cowling.

Re: Fitting tyres to SIP tubeless rims
The scoot rs rims dont have a deep enough channel causing problems stretching the tyre over the rim, the sp rims have more of a channel/deeper making it easier... This exactly the issue that my inquisitive tyre fitter stated as a problem with the SIP rims. Perhaps this is an inevitable feature of a...
