you can use any piston...after all the boost port will be positioned to miss the ring pegs... in one i use the ron moss ts1 piston,in the other i use the scooter restorations sr200 piston with windows milled in. And jedan71,im only quoting what the mag concluded....with no other mods...just a reedbl...

Also if your unsure about cutting the boost port, the artlicle in scootering mag just did the piston window mod(no boost port) with the reed valve manifold and got good results.
As a footnote. just the reedvalve alone without any piston windows reduced performance.

ive done a couple and i must say they do go well,one one an iron 200 is a peach to ride. first job is to determine the ring peg positions,mark the top of the piston with a fine marker pen the EXACT points where the line up on the piston crown. reassemble the piston onto your crank,no need for rings ...

Are you using a drive side bearing with a built in seal?..I've done without the hallite washer in the past as the combination of the both were too thick

I blew my muggello reed 225 on friday...white plug,piston crown eaten away,scuff marks and plating off around the exhaust port..
anyhow im just putting some costs together,ive had nikasil done in the past,think it was about 130 quid,anyone had ceramic done?any idea of the cost?

Yes the mb shorty...I run one on both my bikes,one on a muggello 225 the other on an iron 200,well designed and work well.But you will have to trim some fins
