Re: Flywheel thread

I find hard to believe the thread on the flywheel has stripped. You can buy a flywheel puller for all vespa flywheels, try beedspeed and allstyles. I know I have two flywheel pullers, will check the size. You could use one of those claw pullers, the have three legs and a central threaded bolt (forg...

Re: 12v ignition advice svp

the only kit i've ever used in 30 years of messing about with bikes that has proven (for me) to be 100% reliable is electrex. as expensive as varitronic, but as far as i'm aware without the retard/advance feature. That said, I spoke to varitronic about 2 months ago and they said they were bringing o...

Re: inlet manifold temperature

I see your point, but I find the husks in sugar puffs get stuck between my teeth. Consequently I usually partake in crunchy nut corn flakes or mini weetabix (nuts and raisin variety). Do you think these are acceptable substitutes?

inlet manifold temperature

Does anyone know the maximum realistic temperature of the inlet manifold?

In case it makes much difference, I have an SR185 barrel, mb inlet manifold and rubber mounted 25mm phbl with ancillotti clubman.

I need to make a gasket and the card I'm looking at is only good up to 120c.

Re: stiff clutch?

That sounds right for an on the bench clutch test. You'll know for sure once you get it cabled up. Tape off that intake and exhaust before something crawls in there! They did have freezer bags stuffed down them, but I got all excited and kicked it over a few times which blew them out. Now properly ...
