Re: Tank cleaning.
I recently did an old tank that was rusty. Put in some old nuts and bolts and shook it. Lots of rust flakes came out. I shot in some brake cleaner to get rid of any grease and oil. Then I filled it half full of “evapo-rust”. It’s non toxic and dissolves rust. I let it sit for 24 hrs then rotate the ...

Re: My latest barn(ish) finds
A nice find Dave. It looks okay. Where abouts in Canada are you? Hi, I’m in Toronto. Just put the body work on and the correct bench seat (but the cover is a cheap repop). https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200505/d1ac2de40ed63654f5eda84b525b5b3d.jpg Nice. I was in Ontario a few years ago. Didn't g...

Tv175 disc brake squeal
Hi, I’ve got an original disc brake. New pads and copper grease ion their edges. Drilled out 3 holes in the disc to the slightly larger recommended size. Put copper grease on the 3 pins. Small amount, just enough to help free play My brakes work well but are squealing. Any ideas why? Thx in advance ...

Re: Horn
Any recommendations for a 12v replacement horn? I don’t think it’s possible to find a loud horn on an AC (non battery) scoot. What I did was attach a DC car horn (120 dB) on the kick stand strut under the leg shield. Ran it off a battery and used the original horn switch, using a relay hidden were ...

GT200 base gasket vs stock transfer port comparison (seeking pics)
Hi, I slapped on a GT200 years ago, runs great, but I didn’t open up the transfer ports. I’m wondering if someone who has both GT and stock base gaskets on hand could post a pic of one overlapping the other so I can see the difference. I’m trying to decide if there is enough difference that it would...

Can I use a 5pin vespa regulator?
feeds in are 1) unregulated AC in, 2) Regulated AC out, 3) DC out, 4) unregulated AC in, 5) ground.
My lambretta stator has 1 AC out for the regulator. Can I add a wire to it so it connects to both regualtor in puts or will this drop my watts?
Tx

Re: At Last!
I've used Jetex, many dellorto and Miikuni. I'd say it comes down to the quality of the specific production run. They all have part suppliers and quality standards can vary by who is running a machine on any given day. Or who things are outsourced to. A company I worked for outsourced manufacturing....
