Re: Vespa engine swaps

Was this chassis built up from a Vespa front with sheet metal and tubing welded up to hold tank, seat, and engine?

Vespa engine swaps

Anyone swapped motorcycle engines into Classic Vespas? My impression is that such a swap would be far more difficult than for a Lambretta. Which of course doesn't mean it hasn't been done.

Re: scooter center

Who to buy from in the States is a problem as well - even for items one would expect to be common as grass.

Scooter parts - order from somewhere...almost certainly not made in the States or even this hemisphere. And few dealers.

Vespa two cycle decarbonization

Flipping through a recently acquired Haynes manual for the P/PX two cycle scooters, I noticed that it recommended decarbonization of the engine every 2500 miles. Basically this was removing the plug, exhaust system, and head (plus things in the way of those) and scraping carbon from the head cavity,...

Re: Got a new jacket...

Have never understood the fascination with camouflage coloring for knives, flashlights, guns and other gear someone might lay down or drop and want to find.

Re: lambretta turntable.

Find an office chair - preferably one with five casters - looking for a new home. That might be adaptable. If you literally want to roll the scoot on, turn it to align with a stall or parking spot, then roll the scoot off - look at a large bearing assembly for a Lazy Susan. 12" diameter 1000 US...

Keys for 1980 Vespa P200e sold in the states

How many different keys came with 1980 Vespa P200e sold in the states? I received two when I bought mine last fall. One operates the ignition switch and the other works the lock on the "glove box" on the leg shield. The column lock is present but unlocked. Likewise for the seat lock. Since...
