I always thought/read somewhere that the common crank in the S1-3 had roots in design with the C, D ranges etc and that could be the reason for the 107 conrod length.

6000 one for me for me - Stage 4 ( SIL), Yam 110 rod, lighter piston, Mikuni 24mm, Af Clubman and Li 125 gearbox 18X47. Nearly went for the 7000 but was recommended the 6000. The science looks good and it will hopefully make a smooth, economic and reasonable quick engine.

Fork Buffer Position
According to Sticky's book it's the thinner type buffers at the top of the forks, but according to SSSTV Li fork rebuild they say fatter buffers to the top. I think Sticky's book is the original way but is their an advantage for the fatter ones to the top?

I got them done at a chrome platers in Houston, Texas $545 for the lot. To keep them right he recommended a product called White Night which I've yet to get.
