Re: AC vs DC stators and electronic kits.

Another major advantage to a full DC system is you can charge your phone, iPad run an inspection light or just recharge some battery's. The biggest drawback is where to fit the battery and that's not too big a deal. I would also mention that you don't need a big motorcycle or scooter battery as they...

Re: AC vs DC stators and electronic kits.

That didn't answer the question.
If you have a DC bike with battery get a full DC with wassel as the AC system with DC tap off doesn't have enough power to run a full DC system.

Re: AC vs DC stators and electronic kits.

Cost, full wave rectifiers and battery's are cheap and reliable now but weren't 30/40/50 years ago. The AC stator is simpler and doesn't need a battery/smoothing system. The DC system is more efficient, gives better more constant lighting. What I can't understand is that the only differe between the...

Re: Hydraulic Brake Disc conversion

A lot depends on how much you want to spend. I fitted a semi hydraulic system which keeps the headset looks with a scoot rs disk for drum links( that doesn't look standard ) it took some setting up but works really well. With a bit of ingenuity you can make the whole thing look standard using disk l...

Re: My First Lambretta Project

+1 for Recover as much as possible.
Especially the screws for the headset-horncast-switch housing and legsheilds top hats as the remade ones don't fit right- clean-polish and a bit of clear lacquer to stop them rusting after they are fitted.
Good luck and enjoy.

Re: Ratcheting Open end spanners

I used K-nuts (anti-septic cream and band aid to fit mine), they are smaller across the flats which gives more room to get the spanner in and they lock on.
Not cheap at £1 a nut but I haven't had to keep tightening them up

Re: bgm stator wont retard enough

Have you had it running and strobed it.
I had exactly the same issue with a BGM stator and AF flywheel- but static 19 deg was actually 16 deg when strobed
