House Of Kolor
Does anyone use HOK paint, and if so, can you recommend a supplier ? I only paint infrequently, and was told by my local supplier ( in Hull ) this afternoon, that as Anglo Dutch in Doncaster no longer import it, they dont sell it any more. There is more than one company claiming to be an official im...

I would use a nibbler to do the trimming.
Using a grinder on sheet metal is a little bit "OCC" for me, not to mention dangerous

Re: laquering over stickers/transfers
I have been laquering over the vinyl graphics I make with 2K for years, with no problem.
I always dust on a light coat first, but I do that to prevent build up on the edges at first (avoids runs).
Were they a paper backed sticker, or plastic?

Is it too much to hope for that they are still at this price ?Diablo wrote:They are still at £165 at the moment. Add £25 for the toolbox mod if needed.

Auto Air if you are airbrushing it: http://www.smdesigns.co.uk/
Acrylic will be fine for brush work, but make sure it is UV stable or clearcoated, otherwise it will fade over time.

Re: couple of questions for the experts
The auto air range of custom paints are water bourne, and they have some fantastic stuff. If you have ever seen any of the American Chopper episodes when Nub has been painting, you have seen AA in action. They are available from Simon Murray in the UK: http://www.smdesigns.co.uk/ If you want to lear...

Coaster is bang on !
Once the barcoat cures, you treat is as the bare substrate, you then have to apply a primer, colour, clear etc. as you normally would, flatting as you go.

Re: Glowble flake
I do wonder about Metalflakes marketing strategy. They don't seem to have moved with the times to offer a full paint system, in fact the opposite is true. They used to make various coloured primers, and airbrush size tins of paint, but these have all gone by the wayside. The UK site seems to have no...

Re: Paint disaster
Another vote for Barcoat, although it is a last resort, not a get out of jail. If you are looking to do a decent job, you are better off removing the problem paint, and starting again. The Barcoat will form the barrier you are looking for, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have adhesion problems e...

Was it a powdered pearl that you had mixed into clear?, and was that part of the same system, or have you mixed and matched brands.
