Its been a while since ive built a scooter. When my 15 year old son showed intrest in riding with me to the rallies with me this year, I couldnt hold myself back. He has ridden loads last year on his KTM Duke 125 and gets his 125 license in May. The bike was registerd as a 125 in 1971 and I built it...

Yes, its a series 1. I have orderd the longer s3 kick lever that fits on S1, which should help a little.

Newly built BGM225, dellorto 30 carb. 2 niggles, Its hard to start! not hard, as in 100 kicks but physicaly hard to kick. 1.13 squish. Starts second or third kick. Its my 15yr old sons scoot and he kan bearley kick it over, he has no probs kicking over my SS240 as a comparison, It wont idle. 55 pilo...

Newly build scooter using MB loom, casa switch (LI2) and cut out switch, jockies headlight.
When I fire it up I have speedo (sip), rear brake light, horn and main beam.
I don`t have pilot light, rear light or dip.
Any Idea what I have plugged in wrong?

Stripped the motor, measured the crankshaft, 1.1mm out, taking it to get streightened and selling the feker at a loss.
It will cost me £60 to send back and if they send me a new one, another £50 in vat and customs.

Scooter center are not being very helpfull. It feels like they are misunderstanding me on purpose.
Im going to buy a new crankshaft and rebuild the motor then put the crankshaft in the lathe and measure it propper before I throw my toys out of the pram at them.
