Re: mugello 225, only 12bhp so whats the solution

Just out of interest what timings would you suggest, something in the region of:
Exhaust 175°
Trans 125°
Inlet 150°
I've got a old 200 block that I may fettle with and I come up with these, anybody know if these will work OK to get a nice sensible level of tune coupled to a JL3.

It's all looking very tasty so far Mick.
So will you be designing and making the pipe also, to unlocks it's true potential ?? :)

Re: GP150 cylinder - Mick Abbey Tuned - Back to the old school !

Hi Brickie, the kit that Dave built for me does have more bottom end torque than I expected to be fair as it's quite a hot tune with 182° of exhaust and 155° of inlet timing. It pulls much better lower down than my standard stage4 200 barrel, it's most probably due to the 3 boost ports but I do no...

Re: Rear Sprocket Lightening

Has anybody tried one of these:

They are only £16.00 form UK stock and also hardened so you can run some bearings in it. At this price they seem almost too good to be true so has anybody tried one?

Re: GP150 cylinder - Mick Abbey Tuned - Back to the old school !

This is not dis-similar to my Ali 225 kit that was ported by the late Dave Betts. It has 3 finger boost ports fed up through holes the piston so the main difference here being that these are feed directly from the main transfer ports, perhaps this will be better option as it would keep integrity of ...

Re: Casa Lambretta 210 Road Kit.......Update

Assuming that you would like to have a nice straight barrel with no taper then surely the problem lies with Asso piston.

Exspansion pipes JL3 vrs Sterling.

Has anybody some some data on a direct comparison between the Sterling against the JL3 pipe across the rev range or for that matter a JL4. I constantly here that the stainless Sterling pipe is not that good and OK if your on a tight a budget so I am interested in any potential performance gains I ca...

Re: Exhaust Gasket

Thanks for the info Guys. It was a big bore spec gasket however it was still too small a hole for my exhaust port and manifold. I will get a new one and try and file it out or use my Dremel to fine tune but TBH I was unsure if it was a sold piece of copper so that i could be able to do this. If this...

Exhaust Gasket

I need to fit a new exhaust gasket to barrel when I put it all together, its a standard cast type fitment. When I presented a 42mm copper gasket, it masked quite a lot of the exhaust track and port so I need to source something with a bigger hole. Will it be OK to get a fibre item and then trim it t...

Re: piston ring end gap

I like to use 0.10mm per inch of bore.
Thus 2.66 inches x the above is 0.26mm or 11 thou.

Hope this helps
