They will, but how it looks when it's done might be an issue for you. Or not. If you're going to run a hugger-type gaurd and don't care about the steering lock, then no, you don't need to modify it at all. The lower bearing to the top of the tube is about 2 or 3mm taller - bugger all - and the lower...
