Re: Race Tour Pistons

The cylinder was returned for repair. MB was as nice as he could be about it, but it seems unfair to make it sound as if MB is personally responsible. Failures happen. It is being repaired and I'm confident I'll be just as happy with it post-repair as I was before it failed. I much prefer doing mor...

Re: P Range Front Indicator Mystery?

I suspect a bad earth. i'd be inclined to run a wire from each indicator to a good engine earth (as opposed to the local frame earth) with all 4 indicators on the same earth point. This will eliminate any bad earth points. If all working re-attach one at a time checking each time one is re-connecte...

Re: P Range Front Indicator Mystery?

Not yet had the scoot back round to have a look at (it's a young lad that's just bought it), I'll ask him to bring this round this week and have another look.

Re: Race Tour Pistons

Did the MB race tour pistons (made in UK ones) have problems with its ring pegs, or was it just those supplied with the RT kits ? I had issues with a Race Tour piston loosing a ring peg but I got told that it was because a certain dealer wasn't personally able to stand over me at every petrol stati...

Gaz
Cheers Gaz, something to look at (again).

It's each respective side front indicator that stays on, whilst the back one and headset indicator light flashes as expected.

P Range Front Indicator Mystery?

Can anyone suggest what is causing the following: A Mk1 P Range Vespa with front indicators that when switched on do not flash? The relevant back indicator, and indicator warning light, on the headset flash as expected, yet the front indicator stays on solidly when switched on. I've connected a repl...

Re: Change spark plug? 8 to 7??

I've had a lot of trouble with NGK's packing up in the past, no warning just cut out which is no good when on M-way or in town. Changed to Champion last few years and no issues. There was talk of dodgy batches of NGK plugs being sold through auction sites a while back. Always wise to buy things lik...

Re: Change spark plug? 8 to 7??

Apologies, stand corrected, the hotter the engine runs (i.e. hard motorway riding) the higher number of NGK plug you should look to be using. With Champion, the lower number of plug.

The engine runs hotter, not necessarily the plug.

Re: Change spark plug? 8 to 7??

So, my question is - can i change my plug from a BR8ES to a hotter BR7ES so that it will burn hotter and clean the plug. Engine is TS1 225 :D Cheers Scott Hi Scott With NGK plugs the higher the number the hotter the plug. So you'd need to try a BR9ES, not drop to a cooler plug such as the BR7ES. NG...
