ok but let us know if you notice it running cooler, might try it myself lol.

are you using a strobe or marks for timing. Gunson timing lamps (cheEp-bay) are good at around 25nicker.

hmmmm tough one to call really, stupid question but it has engine oil ? (I know but got to ask). does the revs hold up when you come to pull clutch in ? (weak mixture/air leak). any sound of pinking at higher revs ? (timing too advanced). hard to kick over (too high of comp head/piston). If it's goi...

^^nice one Dave, but am sure you get the picture^^ at least you have noticed it's running hot at mo, you could back timing off a little say to 16/15 an see if that helps ? you not mentioned if it's a complete engine rebuild or just top-end ? carb same/exhaust ? if you have noticed it being hot then ...

I can see your point about the fuel cleaning the injectors and this is probably the cause to rubber breaking down and floats swelling (depre-fekin-dation lol), but being a minority in the "OIL INDUSTRY" what's the option/solution.

or pull the low-tension wire at the CDI ? (or put a big rubber glove on, sit on a wooden stool, count to 3 an shut yer eyes.........like Sean lol). you could connect a wire to the CDI where the green go's, engine running and earth it, it if kills the engine then it's a problem with yer kill button/w...
