Have you checked your choke cable is adjusted properly? I adjust mine so there's a bit of slack in the cable when it's off. I'd check that as well, make sure the plunger is clean and closes properly.

Daily touring mileage
I'm planning a trip for next year (hopefully!) touring on my scoot in Europe. What would be a reasonable daily mileage? Assuming getting lost, enjoying the nice bits and taking it easy. Lambretta Li 175, avoiding motorways and the like. I'm guessing about 300 miles maximum in 6-8 hours riding. Would...

Do a bit of research or call a decent shop to make sure you get the right one. There are two lengths possible, I think, and different tip materials.

It's a critical part to rely on a greased bearing, especially as it gets quite hot. That's my opinion based on guesswork and little else

Could be a leaky needle/float valve. Atomisers don't wear in these carbs, to be honest.

There are plenty of suppliers. I got my first kit with the lightened flywheel from AF Rayspeed, who were very helpful in choosing the right kit getting it to work.
