Re: Avanti headcowl on TS1
Hi Ron, yes... standard stroke crank. I could get 3 bolt in but the cowl was massively twisted away from the housing. It didn't fit my original standard SIL housing, and I have just swapped that for a new one with no better results. At present, I have 4 long head nuts fitted, but only 1 cowl bolt li...

Avanti headcowl on TS1
Anybody else having issues getting them lined up properly?
I can get 1 and at a push 2 head bolts set up, but a massive gap between the cowl and mag housing. I've fitted a packer from Darrell Taylor which has help lose any stray cooling, but still not ideal.

Re: A question....
Thanks for the reply, I've had a few trial runs this morning and plug chopped it, and it looks like I've had to tweak my air screw and drop the clip 1 notch. I've gone up on main as well as a precaution.

A question....
I've recently set my carb up (30 mm PHBH with TS1 225) without the side panels on whilst they were off being resprayed. I was using a breath sweet, but have now removed it. I appreciate that the jetting will need increasing. My panels have built in side scoops for carb space and increased air flow. ...

Re: Having difficulty with jetting
Mines a TS1 also.
Far too boggy on AV266 or AV268 X13 2nd clip,Good on top clip. Got a big pilot in as it runs along 60mphish on 1/8 throttle. Full setup is, Pilot 64, 50 choke, 40 slide, AV 266, X13 top clip, main 145 as a bit OTT but quenchs EGT when WOT without bogging.

Re: Having difficulty with jetting
Before dropping to an AV264, I'd consider dropping your slide to a 45 or 40.

Re: Having difficulty with jetting
I've got a different set up but a similar problem. I've just dropped from AV268 X13 to AV266 X13 after having tried with X7. Have you ruled out any air leaks? I managed to find a leaky exhaust manifold which was throwing me off kilter a bit.

Re: High EGT
I've got a CHT too, and I'm happy with that reading. I was more concerned that the 650+ was close to the piston melting point and hence prone to seizing. The EGT is a recent addition and as such I haven't had a decent timespan to get to know the normal range of temps.
