thanks for the input folks, fitted the x7 needle and a 128 main and its got some colour on the plug, i have told him that a dyno set up is his best bet, i did forget to say in original post that it had windows in the piston and the skirt has a crescent cut in it , and a boost port as well.

hi ive got an rt 195 that ive fitted a piston to for a friend of mine after he holed the piston, i have a feeling it was partly to do with the ignition timing which i have adjusted, i had to enlongate the slots to get 17 degrees, it was about 21 without slotting the holes, i also had to remove a lam...

at a rough guess your front sprocket is too big, go down 1 tooth and road test it, should then pull in 4th gear

I built an rb20 for a friend of mine and had exactly the same problem with those studs, he was advised by the person he got them from to drill the holes out in the brand new barrel, I advised him that I wasn't doing that and got some thinner studs, its also a well known problem for the 4 point seize...

This is a real 'scientific' response :P Using some decades old Boots scales we found in a skip, a full frame weighs 39 lb. The cutdown that I have has narrowed legshield support struts, a 4" lowered headstock, all of the rear board support struts but it has been cut behind the seat in a vee, p...

when I converted mine to dc I used my existing ac bgm stator and converted it to dc by removing the earth tag from the last lighting coil and added an extra wire to the end I disconnected which then joins to the wassel, I think I bought a bgm wassel as well and its never had a flat battery, I run an...
