With or without an electric start, something I'm thinking about is a decompression valve. I know that a hole can be drilled in the exhaust port area "that doesn't affect running" but I may be just too stubborn or stupid to adopt that measure. Automatic decompression valves are available t...

Re: Won’t cold start/choke.

a leak test is to check that the crankcase, cylinder, head and manifolds dont have any air leaks. an air leak will give running problems which if not fixed will lead to overheating and detonation, melting the piston or heat siezing. i use a blood pressure guage and hand pump and an adapter to fit in...

Re: Won’t cold start/choke.

the original backfire could have blown a gasket on the inlet manifold or the base of the cylinder, ive just had this happen to me, a leak down test would be a good plan before you start messing about with jets as trying to re jet around an air leak.

Re: LI125 With Scootopia 185cc kit

did you re torque the head after 100 miles or so, could easy be a leaky head gasket, of blown gasket, a leak test is the best way to check.

Re: RB20 Repair Options?

ive seen damaged spigots used in the past with no issues, just as long as there are no sharp edges, so you could cut away the damaged part, i believe a shorter spigot will cool the piston more, you will not have as much support for the piston if you remove the full spigot, i would mark the inside of...
