Hi all, just opened up by Challenger 240 engine, as need to replace Drive side Oil seal. Want to change gearing, as does not really pull 4th well. Seem to remember from last time was SX200 gearbox. OK, recently checked out a few posts on here and LCGB, all relating to tuned bikes using SX200 gearing. I've got a Challenger 240 (originally worked by Bob Monkhouse and Martin Cook), in the 80's. Had lots of similar issues over years. 3 things that have bitten me in the past ..... 1. Thought I'd be clever and put some of the old style concetenar type rubbers over the exposed gear cables at bottom end. Only after 3 gear box strips to find out the rubber was too hard and did not contract enoug...

Hi all, I had a Sccotrs one fitted on one of my bikes. Was OK, but felt was not as sharp at braking than say a TAffspeed converted disk I had. my son has a dragster with a 70's kit on as well. Interestingly when he had it originally as a 50 it got stolen, when we got it back, we had exactly same symptoms as you describe.
