Re: Polini 177 Exhaust?

I have the Polini 177 kit on my PX engine that I am presently running in a Sprint Veloce body. With the set up I use (177 kit, matched casings, Pro-series crank, 23/64 up gear kit and a standard 24/24 carb) I use the RHS Polini repro pipe from Saigon Scooter Centre and it works like a dream giving a...

Re: Porting Vespa Engine casings

Here's a shot of the transfer ports on the engine casing and yes I did go a bit mad and pop through on the LH transfer. But this is easily welded up and apparently its an easy mistake to make. The original Malossi gasket was matched to the cylinder ports as its a few millimeters too big and then th...

Re: Porting Vespa Engine casings

here is a couple of shots of the intake after it has been opened up match the reed vale manifold. I also removed some of the material around the inlet and the bearing to improve gas flow into the casing although its not very clear in the photos below. Again this will all be polished up and improved ...

Re: Porting Vespa Engine casings

Quick update: Piston skirt has been cut off to allow for the 60mm Crank and the piston transfers ported as per a German website I found - (http://www.worb5.com/malossi_210_211_dr_worbel/210Malossi.htm) Then after matching the gasket faces to the cylinder and then transferring them to the engine casi...

Re: Porting Vespa Engine casings

Thanks for all the invaluable information guys very much appreciated. As to the point of what I want to achieve from the engine then the answer would have to be "fast road use" I know that in itself is a bit of a cliché in the world of scooter tuning but what I mean is I hope to make my en...

Porting Vespa Engine casings

Anyone know of a good website or any other source of information for the porting of a set of P200 engine casings to take a reed valve and a Malossi 210 kit ??

Maybe you have already done this and could provide some tips hints and pointers.

Cheers.

Re: Engine Build - Advice needed

All good advice thank you every body who took the time to write (especially Jack) I received the Malossi MHR cylinder kit yesterday - so nice to look at its almost a shame to have to fit it to an engine. I am still waiting for the reed valve kit to arrive from Scoot RS and as soon as it does I will ...
