Re: Imola running

Yeah Pete gave me the print out and I had a chat with him on Friday and with the set up I have he thought I needed to run it a bit harder and also maybe change the spark plug. So grow a pair and ride it :D But I still think it's to rich for when I am at low revs the plug was that black I couldn't st...

Re: Imola running

Set up I'm running is a Franspeed stainless JL pipe PHBH 30mm carb, I've just been for a smaller pilot jet and showed him the carb set up which is now a main jet 128, slide 40, 266 atomiser and a needle of X2 on top clip, the bloke tells me an X2 is used in a Vespa set up and not Lammy and should be...

Re: Imola running

I rang the guy who dynoed it and went through the results seems it's set ok through the rev range apart from it runs rich at about 3000 revs, with the set up I've got so Franspeed race pipe, gearing etc and not being used to an Imola may need to ride it differently. But now I have thought about it s...

Imola running

Just to recap rebuilt GP with Imola with 30mm carb Franspeed exahaust you may remember I had it on the Dyno which improved the running but the spark plug is really black and oily and it runs really lumpy when cold with the choke to the point I can turn the choke off after a couple of minutes. Also w...

Re: Dyno after re-build

First time I've rebuilt an engine apart from standard stuff so by standards on here probably fairly modest but 16 bhp, but good torque and I'm happy.

Dyno after re-build

Quick re-cap fitted an Imola kit 30mm carb, franspeed etc, scoot runs ok but dosn't quite feel right in 4th, Carb was jetted to suite the set up when I bought it, wondering if I should get it set up on a dyno but do I need to run in first.

Re: Running in Imola

Just checked and it's coming from the joints on the exhaust, I've fitted a Franspeed Stainless JL so not sure if this level of shite is normal or I am just being over cautious.

Re: Running in Imola

It's a full rebuild with a 30mm carb and yes I have fitted a head gasket, could be just from the carb but I'll check the cylinder head, the oil on the exhaust did look like it had come from the bolts that hold the end can on so I nipped them up a bit but only a touch.
thanks
