Re: BGM clubman

Those carb settings seem rich enough to keep it cool..i take it the avanti head was profiled for a yam piston?.. Yes had it profiled to suit. But to be honest it was doing the same on a previous AF head that was fitted. If I could weld, and build my own clubman I would, but I don't know anyone that...

Re: BGM clubman

Thanks everyone - I also forgot to mention running an avanti head too just to try and keep cool, but that's not made much improvement - clearances are pretty big, 4 thou - tuner checked before he built it up as its running a Yam DT250 piston and he says you can run the bigger clearances with those P...

Re: BGM clubman

Holty and YAM LAM. - great replies and bares out what others far more knowledgeable than me have made me suspect ..... Thank you both I can't weld so there's no way I can build my own clubman , but my own pig headed approach means I don't want an expansion pipe. My options are limited - Gori gp50 or...

BGM clubman

I'm running a 230cc Rapido with LTH reed valve / 30mm phbh and a BGM clubman. I'm Wondering if this pipe can cause a build up of heat? The tailpipe is only 17mm , and 48mm plus box pipes I've used are usually 24mm diameter ? Can this cause heat? I've been through everything , and I mean everything o...

Re: EXOL.............Again???????

Like you I've finished off a couple of 25ltr drums, on 230cc / 225 engines, honestly no issues other than its a bit smokey ... Always used fully synth - interested in others views.

Avanti head on Rapido

Help !
I've bought a 2nd hand avanti head to go on my Rapido 225. Can I just bolt this on? Or is there any machining work??

It's running a Yamaha dt250 piston and reedvalve .....

The reason I'm doing this is due to the fact it's overheating and I've done everything to cool it so far.

Re: Koso revcounters total rubish

Agreed - shite. Completely inaccurate and temperamental. Any recommendations for an electronic , analogue faced rev counter that's available now?

Re: What would you say this is worth?

Surely as the value of the pound decreases you have to pay more pounds for it, and the eighties prices that people paid are gone! Ageing fanbase.... Most 17yr olds don't want a dangerous slow noisy old scooter, they want low capacity quick plastic scooters. For me, it's worth what people will pay, b...
