A friend of mine thought he had plenty of pull on the clutch arm,turns out he was just pulling the free length on the arm,try removing the spring on the clutch arm that way you'll tell how much movement there is in the arm before your clutch starts to become compressed.

As in sticky's manual,remove all wheel rim nuts,prise rims apart and keep open using 2 sockets.Then stick your fingers in and pull apart.

As regards feeler gauges,before you chuck them away,make sure you haven't got one set of metric and one set of imperial gauges.

Nobody has mentioned the absolute ball ache of running in a cast iron cylinder.At least with an alloy cylinder you only need to run the piston rings in.

I use 100mil plastic bottles.At 4% it works out at 1 bottle for 2 1/2 litres and 2 bottles for 5 litres .I have a standard Lambretta toolbox and I can get 6 bottles in a row at the back of my toolbox,thats 15 litres of fuel.My scooter does almost 100 miles per gallon,thats 300 miles of fuel.
