Check that the cable square drive is fully inserted in the speedo Simon. Sounds like it's just catching on the edge of the drive socket. My scoot has over the last couple of months and for no obvious reason started to blow headlamp bulbs with worrying regularity. I haven't changed anything which i believe might have influenced this issue however Ive got through so many bulbs recently that I'm starting to think it can't just be down ...

Wheel circumferences vary quite a bit, don't they? I use 1287 for Bridgestone Hoops with a Ratio of 0.78.

Thanks for the replies chaps, much appreciated as usual! I spend ages flatting the flange to ensure is sits correctly with no high spots, but as Grumpy quite rightly says once it's been heated up a few times and the welding stresses are relieved it's going to move! I think I'm off to the garage for ...
