Do you think your scooter is only 25% faster than standard? ;) I have had similar issues with mine. Tried many combinations but in the end it's all about the springs. The old non autolube P200E used to have a 48/140 idle jet. The 55/160 can be a bit rich for some, even standard no two engines are exactly the same. First jet I would try would be a 52/140. The mixture screw will need to be re-adjusted to get the slow running correct.

I'm sure someone said this before on here but getting the SI pilot jet right is not so simple. The next jet weaker from 55/160 on a P200 is not 40/120 thats for sure.

What size pilot did you try? And what happened with it?

If it clearly runs rich and starts badly with a 55/160, then its not the right jet for your engine.

Sounds like you have the wrong pilot jet to me. What one is in it?

Sounds to me like Fastfrog was first talking about port timing. If you want it to go as fast as possible then a 1.5mm base gasket. For city riding a 0.5mm base gasket. Decide what kind of riding you want it for, then get the head sorted to give a squish of no more than 1.0mm.

The mixer tube does the same job as the needle and atomiser in a PHBH or similar. Once you work out whats what, then tweeking the mixer tube by drilling a few more holes in the right area does the trick for tuned engines.

Did you up 2nd gear too? If not it will be quite a jump between 2nd and 3rd, like an old 3 gear V90 ;) At least its one way to get over the pulling in 4th issue.
