Re: Smaller wassel/podtronic regulator?

I have hidden the small BGM unit inside a standard looking regulator box wiring it internally so he could plug in to the top bullet connections to look standard. This was an AC unit though with a DC trickle feed for battery so not the same as the bigger DC Wassel. No problems with heat on that unit....

Re: External Pick Up

Not gone down the Anthony Tambs route myself but the next time I have stator problems I will be knocking on his door. But as I see it. You have your stator lighting coils that you can convert to DC if you wish or stick to AC, Regulator to match. You then have the low voltage coil and the trigger. Li...

Re: Speedo Bulb

Look out if its one of the nasty ones with a metal block and a screw gripping the wire they are too long and short out on the headstock clamp, I snap them off and solder a wire through the hole left add another to the outside for earth. Pain in the bum but better than a direct short to ground

Re: 12V reg

To use a wassel unit you must have two wires coming out of your stator for ac power, theses are usually yellow, that plug into the wassel. If you only have one then you need a 4 pin regulator that makes 12 volt ac and 12 volt dc to trickle charge a battery. Or simply add the extra wire, you dont ha...

Re: Series 1 rear light board or BGM LEDs?

Have a look on eBay for LED stop tail lights for pit bikes. I found one that fitted inside my series 1 rear light. I used a bit of silicon to fit the led unit inside the lens and it bolted on. The one I used was a clear one that lit red. Very bright cheap and still working well after 5 years. I am r...

Re: Air leak.

If it's a stub and slip joint I have never found these to be worth worrying about. The slip in joint is not air tight but I would normally fill the joint with silicon. Stub to barrel yes. Or am I missing something

Re: 6pole ducati stator purple wire problems

First of all when you go to the 3rd position does the engine cut out eg the same as turning it to position 1 OFF. or is something else stopping the engine running. disconnect the green coming up to the headset from the coil. I suspect the colour coded wires from your ignition switch are not doing wh...

Re: Endplate fixing studs

Sounds like you are winding the studs in till they bottom out. Most studs even chaincase ones need to be set to leave the correct amount above the face edge. Obviously the hole will be deeper but you don't have to go in all the way. I won't go down the dangers of punching out the back, hydraulic cra...

Re: Engine removal

Yes I use one of the one piece brake cables so if you loose the nut on the brake arm you can pull the cable out remove the c clip from the gear linkage and unbolt the swivel and cable block from the top of the engine. Remove the carb from the manifold, remove the rear shock and drop the rear, stick ...

Re: Flush hydraulic brake system

I use a 6 or 7 foot long bit of fish tank air tube, you can pump it through and see any air even better if you can get a different colour fluid you can look for the change in colour as you push it up the transparent tube. If its getting full you can lock of the bleed nipple and drain the tube and st...
