Re: how to check if its been writen off
Hmm.. You'd have to think that anyt impact that caused terminal frame damage then you'd not be reusing the forks, mudguard, or leg shields either. Unless somebody drove into the back of the scooter causing damage to the loop, side panels, rear runners etc, making it not financialy viable to repair the...

Re: Air box removal seizes

Thanks again You dont insert the screwdriver from the bottom you insert it from above the battery tray...

Re: Air box removal seizes
The bolt should have a square head so it doesn't spin.If someone has replaced it with an ordinary bolt you can get a flat bladed screwdriver in from the other side (battery side) and lock the screw head so it doesn't spin.

I used to have an old 1948 Harley - Davidson panhead chop. Each Tuesday we used to meet at Ike's diner in Leeds, one Tuesday when we were all leaving,I kickstarted my bike and got on,pulled the clutch in and engaged first gear, all of a sudden the throttle stuck open and it started to rev its nuts off,...

Re: Halfords v Scooter dealer.
I don't get the original question to be honest. A five litre plastic can from halfrauds is about a fiver, a standard lambretta tank is less than thirty quid? Keep up at the back. http://www.lambrettaspares.com/spares/fuel-and-air-filter-systems/long-range-lambretta-fuel-tank-12-litres-plastic-jet-2...

Re: 50/50 ?
I built a GP engine a while ago.I fitted a new SKF drive side bearing, but the crank,a brand new MEC crank, just slipped into the bearing with ease.I thought the crank must be at fault, but I tried a new bearing and that was a nice tight interferance fit.
