Re: jet200 engine casing cracks? Opinions please

are you sure they are crack's a lot of cases have small amounts of flash from moulding in these places . I would rub them down with wet & dry till you cant see them ,then try a dye penetrant crack detector if they dont show up they are not cracks .

cylinder hone

Does anyone know where I can buy a proper cylinder hone ( sunnen or similar ) in the uk or can recomend an international supplier
not a sprung loaded 3 prong or flexi hone . I am fed up of trying to build an engine only to find there's only .002 " clearance on the piston.
many thanks Paul

Re: Can't bleed disc brake and starting to get suicidal !

try pumping up the master cylinder to get pressure hold in the lever and release the bleed nipple then lock the nipple and repeat . sometimes doing it the normal way doesn't shift the air fast enough and it just drifts back to where it was

Re: lambretta advance and retard

can your strobe cope with the number of sparks per min , remember although your engine is only firing at tdc there is a spark at bdc 4000 rpm equals 8000 flashes per min , more than some cheap strobes can keep up with , also tried to time my varitronic with a snapon strobe that was even worse flashi...

Re: bgm/varitronic

you could just retard the timing on the varitronic just rotate the stator clockwise a little at a time until the pinking stops . this will retard the timing throughout the rev range .
have you checked your compression ratio this could be too high
