Re: Fitting Condenser!

I'm getting there Johnny, slowly but surely! Seems like every job I do though, creates another! S'pose thats Lambrettas for you! A plus last weekend though was that I managed to get all three new tyres fitted without too much trouble (baby powder on rims and tyres worked a treat!) Better get practis...

Re: Fitting Condenser!

Thanks ' dapper'.Have had flywheel off to get it remagnetized, put it back on on Saturday and it started 2nd kick, and was fine. Went to it Sunday morn, kicked it twice, started, then died immediately. Checked for spark, and nothing! Flywheel cover off, looked through viewing slots and could see a l...

Fitting Condenser!

Having to fit a new condenser to my LI Special. Never fitted one before, so not sure if I will be able to fit with stator 'in situ', or will I have to remove it? If it has to be removed, am I right in assuming that if I mark it's exact position on the mag housing, and replace in same place, I will n...

Re: Standard Li150 Special Pacemaker Performance

I have a 64 LiS150 special running an original engine and gear set as far as I know. I have fitted a Jetex 22mm carb with 150m slide , 5899-2 Atomiser 50 pilot 106 Main jet and a standard exhaust 3% fuel/oil mix with the timing set at 19 degrees. Mine will cruise at an indicated 55mph with some lef...

Re: Standard Li150 Special Pacemaker Performance

Following this thread with interest as I have a recently acquired LI150 Special which came with a 20 mm carb, jetted for an SX150!! As I wanted to keep to original spec as closely as possible, I have swapped for an 18mm carb, correctly jetted for a Special. After reading some of the above comments, ...

Re: erratic idle cutting out on deacceleration

Please don't keep us in suspense for too long as I have been suffering the same on my LIS 150! I have stripped and cleaned carb more times than I care to remember, with no success. Changed pilot jet from a 45 to a 48, on Monday, played about with mixture screw, and adjusted throttle position, and at...

Re: key type for 64 LiS150

Hi Johnny. The ignition key in my 65 Special is unfortunately, not an original, and I have no steering lock key at the moment! However, there is information in Stickys book, page 257, which gives original manufacturers for model/part number, with key numbers 'from, to'. Don't know if you have the bo...
