could also do with a bit of advice , im also running an af race crank which seems to be ok, but the more i read about af cranks going pear shaped the more i feel i should do somthing before its to late , any ideas ie do i take it out and have it welded and re balanced. ps im running a std ts1 any i...

Before stripping it it my have been gunked up and so stripping may have freed it off.

Also note squish has a connection with Compression ratio

An example a std TS1 with 1.5mm squish and a head which gives 9.5CR
when changing to 1.1mm squish with same head will raise CR to 10:1 so could cause problems if wrong CR head

The suzuki piston has a compression height of 32mm, a standard lambretta piston is 39mm giving a difference of 7mm. Based on a standard 107mm rod on a standard barrel you would need to remove 2mm off the top and 5mm off the cylinder to account for the 7mm in the above equation. If you use a tv rod t...

Dont forget the Slide acts in this part of the throttle in the progression period

Try a 45 -50 slide or take 0.5-1mm of the cut out
