Re: GT186 squish

Rather than doubling-up I'd suggest getting a pack of ally base gaskets in various thicknesses and using just one the correct thickness. AF Rayspeed do sets.

Re: GT186 squish

I know a few who've run as tight as 0.8mm. If you are confident that it's no tighter then I think that'll be ok, or alternatively fit a slightly thicker base gasket (+ 0.2mm on what you've used). Adding at the base gasket will increase the port timings slightly but that small amount won't do any harm.

Re: full of oil inside selector box

LML make one that is better than Piaggio's. It has a narrower section at the threaded end tp prevent the burring problem you experienced. Can't say for definite that they are interchangable with EFL-on PXs but the chances are very high.

Re: full of oil inside selector box

Supposed to have oil in it, but not be 'full', however it will be if you tip the scooter on one side as it can flow through the bearing. Sounds like the least of your problems :)

Re: ethanol, detonation, egt's?

My EGT was going down when I holed my piston. the thought being it was showing the heat being retained in the cylinder head ? As a stand alone gauge they don't really help, coupled with a second gauge on the cylinder they can work well. saying that I bought an Avanti kit and heat is not an issue an...

Re: Disc brake woes

I've found that since the change to genuine Nissin components my wife's one became hideously snatchy. I used to manually remove pad area too, which worked but someone told me to try different, less aggressive pads and it worked a treat. You don't need the power of sintered with such a big disc and a...

Re: stud extractors

For cylinder studs the cam type works fine for me and they are cheap. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/shopping?q=tbn:ANd9GcQw0UXb74TWkE6yfnq-Oo28CE7Lf1pcJp6sFEsmfUoR8xuV7rpz&usqp=CAY http://www.mpdirect.co.uk/p/26692/sealey-stud-remover-installer?gclid=Cj0KEQiAwaqkBRDHx6rzxMqAobgBEiQAxJazJ-cX...
