Re: Anyone gone from a Ram Air to a Breathe Sweet....

Be really careful in jetting when going to breathe-sweet because the elbow actually speeds up airflow to the carb compared to a straight foam filter. In our experience on the dyno the engine often makes more power with a breathe sweet but also needs bigger/different jetting to suit as well.

Re: Avanti woes

“Sticky” Plating Issues I do hope that before Sunday Sticky will post on here and confirm that his engine build had three air leaks and the cylinder head was loose as he did not use my head nuts.. RM Hi Ron. The head was not blowing but I did find an air leak on one of the mag housing studs when I ...

Funny, that's what Jihadi John said down the pub last week.

At least I think it was him...

Re: Jb weld or TIG

It needs welding and doing properly mate. JB weld will fill a hole ok and maybe patch you up to get home but that part is under stress as soon as you tighten the stud.

Re: GT200 kit exhaust advice please.

Best I've found so far is the MB one that is supported off 4 chaincase studs because the strain is shared by enough studs to cope.

I thought there might be panel problems with the shock-mounted one. Shame as I've trashed many a good panel with that type before.

Re: GT200 kit exhaust advice please.

Martin - what is the panel clearance like with that support bracket? I trust you mean the L&S one from SCK?

It is a better system than off the chaincase studs but older pipes with this support method seemed to touch either the panel on full shock travel or the kickstart.

Re: London low emission zone

Nah, that's not too bad - they were going to charge/ban all old bikes but now all the historic ones can still go in free.

I can foresee an increase in people commuting on classics rather than plastics.

No harm in that.

Re: Lambretta HID conversion

Colin - a couple of Qs

Are you running a full DC conversion on the lammy?

Also did you have any heat problems running 55W in the Jockey's light because stock is only 35W?

That looks a really compact HID conversion compared to ones I've seen in the past. Good VFM even compared to bulbs!
