Try a thinner top plate or even thinner steels if you have any. Also some five plate kits ( especially ones of Indian origins ) sit too tall and can rub on the kickstart shaft. Did you check the plate separation when it's fully compressed? From memory there should be a minimum of 1.5mm of separation. Also which 5 plate kit is it? Some are more trouble than they're worth.

I fitted MB springs to my Readspeed clutch and it's as light as a feather. I can pull it in with one finger. They should as already stated get slightly softer after some use.

Re the Rayspeed budget 5 plate, I have one in my Avanti but these need VERY careful setting up to get the separation spot on otherwise they drag or slip. MB springs, correctly routed MB nylon lined clutch and Yamaha lever. Then you'll have a clutch as smooth as silk.
