When installing the egt thermocouple I apply A sealer ( welseal ) before tightening up ~ Plus use rubber boots (Koso ) on the male ~ female plugs ~ No water issues then
The cht sensor when wet reads zero ~ But soon as the head is warmed up ~ Works fine

well seeing as some fully synthetic oils are made from modified petrochemicals the oil makers will surely alter molecules to combat this, so not strictly man made but chemically altered petroleums mixed with esters and stuff rather than mineral which comes from crude oil, not that this has anything...
