Re: GT 240 Options

I have a Fran Tourer that I used on test, it's in very good condition with TS1 and standard flange. It doesn't have the edge that the race has but if your touring its OK. There is a boss welded on for a Lambda probe. PM me if you're interested

I'm using the BGM clubman on the EVO engine and it goes like stink BUT it has had the internal baffles brutally operated on and it is louder.

Re: GT186 30mm Dell' Orto carb question

The GT kit retains the 30mm Left hand side carb and it fits in the space where the airbox was between tank and glovebox. All kits, not just the GT, do not accommodate the use of other non-standard fuel tanks cut outs either missing or in the wrong place. The reason the manifold kicks up is to provid...

Re: dt 250 piston in a ts1 pro's and con's

With a 13mm packer it will be close but would go if you used eccentric cones for sure. 60 stroke looks reasonable timing on a TS1 if you run a "0" deck height and machine the squish clearance in the head. If you run the piston out the top of the cylinder (-2 deck height) to keep the timing...

Re: dt 250 piston in a ts1 pro's and con's

Both DT250 and TS250er pistons are suitable but will require 18mm wrist pins. I use modified TS250er pistons on the GT240 and GT250 kits, it was flatter if I remember). You will need to increase the rod length to 110mm as a minimum at which point you might as well stroke it to 62mm (or even 64 if yo...

Re: GT200 base gasket vs stock transfer port comparison (seeking pics)

There is about a 2mm step on the inlet side of the transfer port. You wouldn't notice the performance difference in practice and if it were an Italian case I would highly recommend that you do not match the casing as it will be de-valued.

Re: GT186 30mm Dell' Orto carb question

You are using a long range tank without a cut out. With original tank and airbox the carb fits fine. If you have a cut out on the other side of the tank you can use a RH side 30mm manifold assuming you don't have a battery tray

Re: GT186 piston skirt question

Yes, it is fine to trim the bottom of the piston skirt up by 1mm but with a 110 rod it should be a couple of mm clear in any case

Re: Balancing a lambretta crank/top end??

There is no need to match rotational masses of primary drive and flywheels this has nothing to do with crank balance BUT the flywheel should be finely balanced, ideally dynamically balanced. Crank balance on a single is always a trade between forced axially up and down the cylinder (forces along the...
