Re: italian gp200 gearbox or indian gp200
TBH I do not do many rallies but quite a few ride outs with my local SC so we are stop starting a bit through town. As you can imagine that leads to obligatory traffic light GP races which is good fun. I run and Indian box with a 18x47 on a Rapido race 225 top end and is fitted with a Sterling pipe ...

Re: Engine cut out at 70mph
Possible fuel starvation at that speed.
Check the flow of your tap and also how fast it enters the float bowl as there may be gunk in there or the banjo filter connection.

Re: italian gp200 gearbox or indian gp200
I too have an Indian GP200 gearbox and was wondering the same as the jump form 2nd to 3rd is quite large.
Would it be possible for me to simply change my 3rd gear for a 39 tooth number from a LI150?
Can I simply drop this inside leaving all the other gears etc.

Re: mugello 225 out of the box bhp?
I've also been told that they are a very mild tune out of the box as the port timings are very close to standard 200, not even stage 4 Indian spec. However if they are prepared to the same level as of tune as the the 186 which is hotter then they can perform very well. There not cheap either so by t...

Re: Poor running - Rapido 225
If it was fitted from new 6 weeks ago you may need to re-toque the head bolts.

Re: Carb Jetting query
I have moved form Indian stage 4 to a Betts tuned 225 system. The carb is a PWK 30 mm with a 125 main jet, 40 pilot with a JJK on the second clip with a sterling pipe. I have found that it wants to run a basically the same level as the Indian barrel even though convention would say it needs a larger...

Carb Jetting query
I have recently moved form 200cc to a 225c top end, the pipe and the 30mm PWK have remained the same. I was under the impression that due to this increase in cc I would need to up jet the card to allow for this. In practice however it bogs down in the midrange when I increase the main form the origi...

Re: Uprated Lambretta Clutch...
I too need to get another clutch fitted to me Rapido race. When I had the engine rebuilt by a well know sprinter who regularly gets low 13's his recommendation was always 4 Indian plates with competition springs as this was the only set up that gave him consistent results. I now need to get this rep...

Re: Expansion pipes
I always have wondered about the overall performance of the ScootRs/Sterling pipes as I have never seen a review of either pipe. However when I see other scoots nearly every other one is fitted with a stainless Sterling so are they that bad?? You will always get comments about the fact they are crap...

Re: Piston Ring gap
Hi Byron I put mine all back together yesterday and used a figure I got form a well known 2 Stroke tuning book. This gave the figure of 0.1 - 0.12 mm per Inch of bore. Hence 70.2mm bore = 2.76 inches x 0.1mm give me 0.276mm or 11 thou in old money. Pretty much spot on what Stickys advises. I hope th...
