Here’s photos of the amount of play before the kick engages, and the current adjustment of the ramp.

Lambretta Li150 S3 kickstart issue

Hi All. My 65’ Li150 doesn’t always start with the kick when cold. It always starts with a bump start down a hill, and I can always kick start it when it’s already warm. Someone suggested I check the play on the kick before it engages. Sure enough it has quite a bit of play before it engages. So I p...

Interesting. I don’t know how the internals work but does the kickstarter engage the clutch? I’ll say it never slips when I’m riding, Including when I’m blasting up a hill at high rpm.

Lambretta Starting Trouble - No Fuel to Combustion Chamber

Hey all, Got a 1965 Li150 that I installed a PHBL carb on. I've put like 3k miles on this thing and it runs fantastic. The problem I am having is, occasionally the kick starter doesn't seem to draw fuel into the combustion chamber. I kick and kick and kick and nothing. It's almost like a vacuum seal...

Li150 - PHBL Carb Tuning - Ruling Out Air Leaks, etc.

Hello, Ive got a 65' Li150 with an SIL ignition. I had to replace the indian jetex carb with a PHBL 24mm which involved dropping the eninge, replacing the intake, and also removing and refitting the exhaust with a new gasket, because I also had to replace the cooling shroud with one that would allow...

Re: Li150 - new carb - won't start

Hey All, Thanks for your input so far. I do have some progress to report. My initial non-running issue with the new carb was traced to bad gas, I knew it had to be something simple and sure enough the gas that had been sitting for months came out all white and cloudy as if it had moisture in it. I p...

Li150 - new carb - won't start

Hello, I have a 65' Li150 that was bored out to 175cc by previous owner. It also has a SIL electronic ignition/stator installed. When I got the bike it had an indian Jetex carb. It ran very well for about 4-5 months but then started having hard starting problems that appeared related to carb floodin...

Re: Li150 starting troubles - fuel related?

Choke operating correctly? What size pilot jet? If you think the float bowl is overfilling. You may need a replacement needle valve (Red-tip) Check to see if it shuts off by holding the float up with the fuel turned on. Choke operating correctly? What size pilot jet? If you think the float bowl is ...

Li150 starting troubles - fuel related?

Hello, I’ve got a 65’ Li150 S3 with a Jetex sh2/22. Runs fantastic, super strong spark, etc. problem is sometimes it’s really hard to start, and the only thing you can do is push it down a hill and pop the clutch.  There is fuel in the bowl when this happens but it seems (to me) like a lot of fuel. ...

Re: Jetex SH2/22 Float Sticking?

Hey all, I thought I had my problem solved, but this morning I had the same issue again. What's weird is it ran great for like 6 days, but just started having problems again this morning. Same as always, would not start, but I was able to bump start it down a hill. Super frustrating. To recap: I hav...
