NSU Prima D Piston

Hey all Started work on my NSU Prima D. It’s been stripped down and started working on the seized engine. Managed to free the seized piston, however on removing the pin using the removal tool I managed to crack the piston. I have seen Lambretta 150 pistons but they don’t look the same however they d...

Re: NSU Prima D

So the fun begins. Finally got sorted and started the strip down. Unfortunately the engine was seized up after lots of oil and heat the piston released. Using a gudgeon pin removal tool unfortunately cracked the piston. The cylinders not in great shape so having it rebored/cleaned up. My question is...

NSU Prima D

Hey all,

I have a NSU Prima D scooter that I believe is in maroon.

During restoration I would like to restore with original colour is there a specific paint colour to be used? For the spray shop

Re: Newbie

Thanks for that. This is no criticism just interested to know why work on it will diminish the value. Surely new seals on engine, new rubber handles/seats and a polish of paintwork wouldn’t devalue it or am I missing something

Re: Advice

Thanks

In terms of engine rebuild what mileage would you suggest.

I think due to the oil over the engine I would say replacing seals would be best option

Re: Newbie

Storkfort I am not sure yet as it’s at my parents I would imagine it needs new batteries at very least but looking at engine it appears the gaskets would need replacing. Tbh with the number of owners and mileage I will look at having under the covers cleaned up and serviced will see if bodywork poli...
