Re: CHT (Vespa BGM 177)

Thanks mate, pretty much my conclusion to be honest.

It’s run in, so maybe time to give it some b@11@x & see what happens (careful b@11@x that is)!

Re: CHT (Vespa BGM 177)

Thanks for the reply! Yes the fuel chamber has been drilled to 2.5mm & a Sip fast flow tap (v2) fitted, I’ve even gone as far as checking the fuel bowl top was correctly fitted & found I had to remove/file approx 2mm off the alloy to ensure that the top & rubber seal seated correctly, th...

CHT (Vespa BGM 177)

Been perusing various forums to try & find out what’s a suitable ‘SAFE’ Cylinder Head Temperature but as usual the information put out is so varied & at times so vague I’m perplexed! 🤔 Scoot is; Bgm 177 57mm Pinasco Racing crank Drt Si 24/24 (55/160, Be3, AC 160, mj 125, both holes drilled o...

Re: SMART CARBS

Thanks Shaunbond & 108 I’ve had a good peruse of the links you’ve kindly sent me & other than being a sucker for new ideas or wheel reinventing technology I’m likely in all probability to go down the traditional side draft carb route! However I’m still of the opinion that SmartCarbs really d...

Re: SMART CARBS

Nice one mate, thanks for taking the time! Pretty much underscored what I was feeling/thinking about SmartCarbs, especially as I’ve trawled through the Astro-web since October & have found very scant information, positive or negative & next to nothing other than from SIP Gotta agree with you...

Re: PX 125 Bogging down problem

My first thought was maybe a dicky float/needle + take the idle jet & main jet stack out, give them & the passageways a good clean with carb cleaner!

Re: Malossi 172 top end

Hello Paul, 1st thing I did was fit the SIP mk2 fast flow tap mate, no problems with fuel starvation issues, the Si 26 is just a plain t@#t to dial in, never had any trouble with an Si 24 + drilled filter & passageways though! With the Si 26 + Venturi the recommendation is to up jet by 10 points...
