I have had two Scootopia filters where the paper element was packed too tightly causing the exact problem you are having. Check you filters against a know good one, you'll see the difference.

Put you hand on the rear shock spring and see if that's it. Easy stuff first.

As an aside, why didn't you just do a 12v light conversion on the points set up? Would have been loads cheaper and easier.

Find an exhaust gasket that matches the exhaust port(or even use a piece of paper to take a pattern) then put it onto the exhaust flange to see if it is the same. If it's not, get the file out and make it the same. You'll know you have no obstruction then.

You say the "bearing is pregreased" How do you know the manufacturer actually put grease in the bearing in your engine without removing the seal/cover? Manufacturers are not perfect and make mistakes all the time. I have opened sealed bearings only to find no grease had be applied to the b...

So 39mm from the top of the exhaust port to the the top of the cylinder isn't optimum any more?

Just to throw this out there... Is the magnetism good in the BGM flywheel? I only ask as I did a comparison between an indian flywheel and a BGM flywheel and the Indian flywheel won hands down.
