the clutch on the jet has started to slip a bit at about 45-50mph,

is there a quick fix with cable adjustment or will it be the plates that are cooked??

yes found out the problem!

the guy who fixed it said that it had a bearing and seal from a gp fitted onto the sx crank, which caused the seal to eventually blow

was rebuilt and so far its ok!

i have since stripped the carb, cleaned it, rebuilt it, same again

i then fitted another carb from a friends scooter, same problem

have spoken to another guy who recons its the oilseal thats away, so is planning some surgery in the coming weeks!

had another fiddle last night! the choke jet was loose [jetex carb, the long one on the r/h side as you look at it fitted] so i screwed it back in tight, re fitted float bowl etc, and kicked it up, but it would only run with the choke on, and wouldnt take any throttle it would just die, also if the ...

my jet 200 is now playing up! fitted the new rear hib etc so decided to take it for a run, It started with no problems and ticked over ok, got on it, select first, and pull away, at about 1/2 - 3/4 throttle it started to die/bog down so pulled in clutch gave it a bit of a rev and set off agin but do...

i dont think its the hub to blame, more the brake shoes

whats the best way to skim them without a skimming tool ?

I had an oval feeling rear hub [ramp :shock: ], so i bought a new one to replace it [fa italia] but it still feels oval when braking, so i replaced the shoes, and the same again, not as bad, but the same is there an idiots guide to setting up the rear shoes so that they both brake equally to get rid...
