3.5mm is standard 4 plate thickness(14mm for 4 plates)to fit 5 standard surflex plates,ie the ones used in 4 plate clutches you'll need an extended spider,and an extended clutch bell.
I'm using a scootrs spider with a 5 plate crownwheel,and a mb bell. Doesn't foul on anything.

i run varitronic on 1 scoot,and lightened indian flywheel,with bgm stator,and augusto unit. Never had a problem with either,but prefer heavier flywheel for rally use,as varitronic flywheeled scoot loses power on hills easier.

18 degrees,if you haven't got a strobe just retard stator,ie turn it clockwise as far as you can...
then buy a strobe gun to check it properly.

been out to pub with mate tonight,suzi 190 on series1. amal 30 ml mk 2. apparently started revvin up when he pulls up to junctions,but dies down when he puts it into 1st,and starts to let clutch out.only happens when engine warm. personally think itrs loose carb top,or cable problem.maybe clutch not...

they're designed to stop the exhaust rusting,or at least slow it down,so yes for me everytime.
